Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

California residents have the right, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), to direct a business to stop selling or sharing their personal information. This page explains how that right applies to Fix My Pipe and how to submit a request.

What This Right Covers

The opt-out right applies to the sale or sharing of personal information as those terms are defined under California law, including information collected through website analytics, advertising technologies and call tracking. It does not prevent caller information from being shared with a servicing plumbing contractor for the purpose of dispatching and completing a requested service — that sharing is necessary to fulfill the request itself.

Identity Verification

To protect against fraudulent requests, reasonable steps may be taken to verify the identity of the person submitting a request before it is processed, which may include confirming a phone number, name or address already associated with prior contact.

Authorized Agents

A request may be submitted by an authorized agent on behalf of a California resident. The agent may be asked to provide proof of authorization, and the resident may be asked to separately confirm the request.

Response Timelines

Requests are acknowledged and processed within the timeframes required under the CCPA/CPRA, generally within 15 business days for opt-out requests, with updates provided if additional time is needed.

Non-Discrimination

No one is denied service, charged a different rate, or provided a different level of service or quality because they exercised any privacy right described here.
